Tim Stessl Marine was established after recognising a gap in the market for servicing clients with an array of boating needs. Tim Stessl Marine is owned and operated by Tim & Sally Stessl, a name synonymous in the boating industry for 50 years.

Tim himself has over 33 years’ experience building, modifying and selling new and used boats as well as offering pre-purchase consultation. Offering clients the very best service in new and used boat sales, repairs and general fabrication, boat modifications, detailing and specialised custom boat building for that special, one of a kind boat you have always wanted.

In addition to Tim Stessl Marine, Tim also owns Makocraft Boats – a well-known and respected Aluminium Australian boat brand, celebrating its 20th birthday in 2025. Tim Stessl Marine is the local Gold Coast agent for Makocraft Boat sales and Tim also stocks Dunbier Trailers and Tohatsu Outboards, both complimentary to Makocraft hulls.

In June 2025, Tim moved to a larger premises at Ashmore, complete with a showroom and workshop. At the same time, he inherited Sea-Trex Boats, which he has relaunched and now manufactures onsite, producing rugged aluminium vessels built for fishing, cruising, and adventure.

​Tim Stessl Marine also has a fully stocked chandlery store on the Gold Coast where you can pick up all your fishing and boating supplies including Icey Tek Ice Boxes and accessories, Garmin & Fusion electronics and sounders, Relaxn seats, Railblaza accessories and Black Ops ASSALT Adventure Wash just to name a few.

Owned and operated by Tim Stessl, a name synonymous with boating, Tim and the Stessl family having been producing boats since 1975 across several leading brands.

​Born and raised on the Gold Coast, and owning his first tinny aged five, Tim is a passionate boat builder and seasoned boatie. After decades learning under the guidance of his father Alf, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable source when it comes to boats.

​All Makocraft boats are designed by Tim Stessl and manufactured in Australia and are built for boaties, fisherman and families. Never compromising on materials or build, Makocraft pride themselves in delivering value for money boats, designed with safety, strength and longevity.
